Tammy Van Vleet

Owner

Gymnastics has been a part of Tammy's life for the past 30 years. Growing up participating in community recreational programs she learned a back handspring which would open many doors for her in the years to come. As a high school cheerleader, Tammy competed regionally and then pursued the activity on the college level at Fresno State University.  As a college cheerleader and summer cheerleading camp instructor she began working with young cheerleaders and traveled the western United States developing friendships that last to this day.  Tammy opened PEAK Elite in November of 2005.  The business continues to be a labor of love for the Positive, Energetic, Athletic Kids that weekly walk through the doors.  In addition to PEAK Elite, Tammy owns the Aloha Spirit Championships and Golden State Spirit Association where she produces cheerleading competitions.  She loves to provide opportunities for young people to gain self-confidence and increase self-esteem through personal achievement.  Tammy credits the success of her businesses to her amazing staff.  She follows the quote by Ronald Reagan, "Surround yourself with the best people you can find, delegate authority, and don't interfere as long as the policy you've decided upon is being carried out."

Sandy Dazey

Stepping Stones Teacher

Sandy has been teaching preschool and working with parents for many years. After updating her degree in Early Childhood education, she taught classroom management and literacy based curriculum workshops for teachers.

Sandy feels a burden to weave all of the developmental areas (literature, math, science art and music) together so that they reinforce one another. This also caters to the variety of learning styles that might be represented within each group of children.

A major focus in Sandy’s classroom is to help children develop their social skills. This is accomplished through purposeful role modeling, nurturing positive peer interactions and using kind, thoughtful words. A spirit of unity and cooperation is fostered when each child is empowered to do their part to take care of our classroom. It is her desire to have children leave class excited about the discoveries they’ve become aware of and for them be excited about learning.

Tania

Stepping Stones Director

Tania graduated from OSU with a Bachelor of Science in HDFS. She was blessed to be able to stay home with her children until her youngest was in school full time. Tania has been back teaching for the last 7 years.

Stepping Stones Preschool was started in 2008. It is a fun, nontraditional classroom, nestled up against the woods, with an incredible playground for the children - the gym! Tania is constantly amazed at how the children respond to gymnastics and the confidence building that comes with overcoming the challenges that present themselves in the gym (their playground). Tania and the children love it here; they have fun and are learning while becoming strong and confident. Tania’s passions for teaching include science/nature, art, and children's literacy.

The Stepping Stones program started Kindergarten in 2009. The curriculums used are Zoo Phonics, Core Knowledge and Saxon Math. The children have gymnastics and Spanish two times a week, along with monthly field trips. The small classroom environment provides many opportunities for purposeful and engaged learning.
